Our school began as a dream in the hearts and minds of a handful of committed Christians-a dream of top-quality academic preparation for our community in an atmosphere permeated by Christ's spirit but free of denominational bias. Since our founding in 1980, that dream has become a reality. Hundreds of girls and boys have entered and progressed through Davidson Academy, availing themselves of our vast array of programs and opportunities, becoming servant-hearted young women and men, and going on to higher education, careers, and families of their own. Our mission is summed up in our motto: preparing students for college, life and eternity.

Davidson Academy is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and approved by the Tennessee Department of Education. The school is also a member of the Association of Christian Schools International, Independent Schools of the Nashville Area, the Tennessee Association of Independent Schools, and the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association. Individual faculty and staff members are also active in many professional organizations.
