At Davidson Academy, students have the opportunity to be involved in the band program from grades five - twelve. The band director is Elizabeth Evans. The Davidson Academy Band Department includes Marching Band, Concert Band, Jazz Band, and Pep Band in the Upper School, and the Fifth/Sixth-grade band in the Lower School.
Marching Band is a course which takes place after school. The Bear Pride Marching Band plays for all varsity football games, competes in competitions and performs in parades throughout the early and late fall. Toward the end of the football season, marching band will transform into concert band and will perform a winter concert.

are students who are charged with communicating all vital information to band members, planning band social
events, and acting as the official liaison to Mrs. Evans.
Pep Band for football season rehearses during school and performs at varsity football games on Friday nights. During basketball season, the pep band rehearses after school and performs at varsity home basketball games.
Jazz band rehearses after school in the spring and performs in the spring band concert.
Tri-M Music Honor Society Induction Ceremony held in the Band Room on November 10, 2009. The following students were inducted into the Tri-M Music Honor Society: Kristen Clay, Morgan Elmore, Montie House, Jimmy Killian, Justin Kilmarx, Daniel Mena, Lee Rice, Erin Wood. Members at this ceremony carried out their last task of performance before becoming inducted into the society.
Tri-M stands for Modern Music Masters. A member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society is one who sets a good example, is always willing to assist those students who are striving to better themselves in the music department, and always remembers that real honor bring responsibility. Tri-M’s purpose is to serve others and raise awareness of music in schools, music education, and our school’s music department.
Concert Band - is a continuing study of instrumental technique beginning in grade 7 through grade 12. This course concentrates on music of all styles and degree. This literature is used in rehearsal and performance as the medium for constant improvement in intonation, tone quality, dynamics, and phrasing. This band will perform a spring concert. The course also supplies students for All Mid-State Band, WKU Honors Band, and Tennessee Tech Festival Bands, as well as others.
Fifth/Sixth Grade Band – This band class takes place in the Lower School and acts as a beginner course for band students. In this course they will become familiar with their instrument and develop the mechanical skills necessary to proceed with band in the Upper School. They will learn to read music, identify note values, and learn basic music theory concepts.
