Being a student at Davidson Academy goes beyond academics and extracurricular activities.
We truly believe in preparing our students for college, life and eternity. Our guidance counselors
foster this environment by regularly meeting with students to talk about a wide range of topics,
from choosing the right college to personal issues at school or at home.
Davidson Academy also offers an extensive college counseling program that encourages students
to prepare early for college admission and to consider a broad range of post-secondary education
opportunities. Davidson Academy counselors carefully guide students and their families through
the process of application and admission to college.
Stanford Achievement Test - Grades 1 - 8 take each spring.
PLAN - given to all students in grades 9 and 10 each fall. This is the preliminary test for the ACT.
PSAT - given to all students in grades 9, 10, and 11 each fall. This is the preliminary test for the SAT and the qualifying test for the National Merit Competition for juniors.
TCAP Writing Assessment - given to all students in grades 8 and 11 each spring.
ACT Test Averages for Class of 2011 Impressive! ACT Test scores remain one of the significant factors in college admissions. Davidson Academy’s Class of 2011 has posted the highest test overall averages in the school’s history. The average ACT score for Honors Diploma candidates is 31 (representing 33% of the class). This average is in the 97th percentile nationally. The overall class average is 25 (representing all members of the class), which is in the 80th percentile nationally. Davidson Academy’s faculty continues to prepare their students for college, life and eternity.
The purpose of the senior newsletter is to give seniors and their parents one place to check for all pertinent information on testing, scholarships, etc. related to the next step in their education. All newsletters are in PDF format and require Acrobat Reader.
