SPIRITUAL EMPHASIS

As a Christian school, Davidson Academy is keenly aware of its obligation to help students grow spiritually as well as academically. Bible study, weekly chapel, and prayer are regular aspects of the curriculum.

Lower School students study the Bible in each grade level, have weekly chapels, and have opportunities to help in mission projects.

Each spring, the Upper School observes Spiritual Emphasis Week. During this special time, coordinated by Spiritual Life Coordinator Bill Alexander and a Student Chapel Leadership Team, there are daily chapel services with various themes, praise assemblies, evangelistic meetings, special music, and testimonies. Various people from around the area are asked to come and speak during Spiritual Emphasis Week in the group assembly.

From time to time, as a community service, Davidson Academy houses sessions of the BETA (Biblical Education Training Academy), an adult Bible Study program.

Contact Bonnie Skipworth for more information.

Service Opportunities
All students are challenged to get involved helping others in meaningful ways, and opportunities are provided for them to fulfill this desire.
