| Littlejohn Engineering Associates, working with Earl Swensson
Associates, Architects, and the school staff and Board of Trustees, has developed a master plan
concept for the new campus. This concept was approved by the Planning Commission of the City of
Hendersonville on December 18. Site grading could begin as early as March of 2007. LEA will
oversee construction of the school's roads, track and athletic fields.

| Five firms have been selected as finalists for the
Hendersonville campus construction contractor. The Building Committee, with input from
the planner, architects, engineers and staff, will announce its final selection decision
on January 5, 2007. |
| Project Architect Wendell Brown of ESa is leading a top
team of designers and engineers in developing detailed plans for the new campus. With an
elliptical forum as its centerpiece, the Hendersonville campus will include a Lower
School/pre-school building, dining hall, Middle School, library, Upper School, visual and
performing arts center, athletics and physical education building and a sports complex with
field house. |
| Veteran Sumner County educator Paul Decker
has been named head of the Davidson Academy's Upper School. He will assume his duties Jan. 4,
2007. Decker served as principal of Hendersonville High School from 1980 to 2005 and currently
serves on the Sumner County Board of Commissioners. Decker is an usher and elder at
Hendersonville First Presbyterian Church. He earned his bachelor of education and master of
educational administration degrees at Middle Tennessee State University. |
