If there is sufficient demand, Davidson Academy provides bus transportation to and from school along certain routes. Our primary commitment in transportation is student safety.  Each bus driver holds a Commercial Driver's License with a School Bus endorsement.  Each bus is maintained by certified mechanics in accordance with Department of Transportation guidelines.

Routes are determined by demand and feasibility.  Door-to-door service is not always possible; central pick-up points are sometimes used.  Weekly rates for transportation for 2006-07 are as follows:

This fall, students may ride round-trip direct from First Baptist Church Hendersonville, 106 Bluegrass Commons Blvd., leaving at about 7:10 a.m. and returning about 3:30 p.m. In anticipation of Davidson Academy's upcoming move to Hendersonville, the fees for this special route will be 50% less than our normal rates.

Students may ride any bus occasionally one way as needed for a charge of $5.00.  For a ride home from school, students will simply board the bus and give the driver their name and stop, and the charge will be posted to their school account. For a ride to school, call Mr. Clif Johnson at 860-5312. Charges for transportation are made to school accounts monthly. One week's written notification is required to discontinue service.

The school also provides bus or van transportation for students involved in athletics, field trips, or other extracurricular activities whenever possible. When Davidson Academy cannot provide transportation to a certain off-campus activity, any student who is an official participant who drives or rides to that activity in a private vehicle must submit a completed "Release of Liability for Private Transportation to School-Related Event" form signed by his or her parents or guardians.
