| THERAPY SERVICES |
 |
| Speech-Language Pathology and Occupational Therapy services are provided on-site at Davidson Academy in coordination with SpeechPath
Outpatient Therapy Services.
Speech-Language Pathologists are available to screen (assist in identification with teachers), evaluate, and immediately start treating children grades K-4 up to high school level. Our services focus on addressing speech and language delays or disorders as early as possible to ensure the child's greatest success.
Our Speech-Language Pathologists treat children with speech and/or language disorders. Therapists teach your child how to say speech sounds correctly so that your child can be understood by others. They also help your child learn how to be a better listener and learner. They do this working with many aspects of language development.
Speech-Language Pathologists most commonly serve the following needs:
- Receptive/Expressive Language skills
- Articulation/Phonology (Speech sounds)
- Auditory Processing (Listening/Understanding)
- Stuttering/Voice
Our Occupational Therapist helps our children master skills needed for self-care, school work,
and play. The Occupational Therapist is available to screen (assist in identification with
teachers), evaluate, and immediately start treating children grades K-4 up to high school level.
Occupational Therapy helps children with challenges in the following areas:
- Fine motor (hand) and handwriting skills
- Motor planning (moving and reacting to events)
- Self-help skills (eating and dressing)
- Play skills (sharing and interaction)
- Vision/Perception (seeing and understanding sight)
