| The Davidson Academy chapter of the National Junior Honor
Society recently elected new officers.
Serving for 2008-09 will be Annalise Price, president; Joshua Gregory, vice president;
Haley Poole, secretary; Erin Wood, treasurer; and Emily Hancock
and Lauren Speck, service co-chairpersons.
Twenty-four students were inducted on May 7 in a ceremony attended
by parents, faculty, classmates, and friends. Membership
in the society is based on scholarship, character, leadership,
service, and citizenship.
New members include ninth graders Mackenzie Burysek, Angelita
Graves, and Haleigh Ker; and eighth graders Shelby
Alexander, Zach Bailey, Angel Brothers, Allyson Burgess,
Ellen Butler, Lauren Cassetty, Hailey Cleek, Joshua Haney,
Amy Huddleston, Jennifer Jennings, Robin Lee, Emily
Locke, Will Painter, Alex Payne, John Pugh, Lauren Shepherd,
Taylor Smith, Taylor Spencer, Bryant Stubbs, Josh
Toon, and Alex Vallett.
National Junior Honor Society sponsors are Mrs. Beverly
Blomquist and Mrs. Dianne Bolin.
