Lori was born and raised in Memphis, where she attended Auburndale School beginning in kindergarten. The Catholic Diocese bought the school when Lori was in middle school and changed the name to St. Benedict at Auburndale (SBA). She attended the school for 13 years in all, participating in many student organizations, including volleyball, tennis, and cheer.
Lori received a degree in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations and a minor in English from Lambuth University (Jackson, TN). She was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi, a yearbook editor, and president of the Student Government Association.
In her professional career, Lori served as the Director of Advancement for a school very much like Davidson Academy – Tipton-Rosemark Academy (TRA), where she oversaw all things involving admissions, development, and the alumni/grandparents associations. During certain times at TRA, Lori sponsored the yearbook, worked with the music/drama departments, and ran the website.
After ten years at TRA, she was asked by her alma mater, SBA, to serve as the Director of Alumni and Development, which Lori did for four years before moving to Nashville.
Both of her children (Maddye and Steven) attended TRA. Maddye, 25, graduated from Belmont University in 2018 and is a recording artist here in Nashville. Steven, 23, is a senior at the University of Tennessee and will graduate in May with a business degree.
“I’m excited that Lori is joining the DA team,” said Headmaster Joe Bradley. “With Lori’s vast experience, she will be an integral member of our leadership team, as we grow Davidson Academy and continue to prepare students for college, life, and eternity.”
Lori currently lives in the Belmont area and has a 14-year-old mini dachshund named Roxy.
“After meeting with Mr. Bradley and the search committee several times, I can already feel the ‘energy’ of Davidson Academy and can tell that this school is so much more than a school,” said Ms. Trew. “I can’t wait to jump in and become a part of the DA family. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to serve as the Director of Admissions. Go Bears!”
