Meet Eli Berry

Grade: 12th
How long have you been a student at DA?
12 years. I transferred here at the start of 1st grade.
What is your favorite thing about DA?
The people.  DA is a family.
Which class has been your favorite and why?
My favorite class has been World History because Coach Swann makes it fun and interesting.
How would you describe the classroom environment at DA?
Friendly and encouraging.
What is your favorite DA tradition?
The Bear Walk! Before each home football game, we partner with a teammate and walk from the locker room to the field together with the cheerleaders – parade style. We march through the crowd of tailgaters in ‘The Grove’ so they cheer us on and get us excited to play.
What activities are you involved in at DA?
Football, Track, Rotary Club, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA)
Davidson Academy is a God-focused school.  How does that impact life at DA and what does it mean to you?
I think it helps me deal with the outside world. When I get confused or stressed, I can always rely on foundations that are taught and reinforced at DA.
What would you tell someone who was interested in attending Davidson Academy?
I would talk to them about the sports and how much fun it’s been to be on the teams here. I’ve made lifetime friends with my teammates.
What has DA taught you about being a leader?
To be interactive.
