Meet Jonathan Wisong

Grade:  12th
How long have you been a student at DA?
I have attended Davidson Academy since the 3rd Grade.
What is your favorite thing about DA?
The people here are so nice.
Which class has been your favorite and why?
Art 1 - because I find it relaxing and a nice break from the regular classes.
How would you describe the classroom environment at DA?
My classes are energetic and friendly.
What is your favorite DA tradition?
The High School Retreat we have at the beginning of every year.
What activities are you involved in at DA?
Model UN, Youth in Government, Speech and Debate, DA Ambassadors
Choose a DA activity or team that you listed above and describe your experience and how it has impacted you.
Model United Nations - This club has provided me with experience in being inquisitive about things I'm unsure about, as well as how to negotiate, and evaluate other people’s views fairly. It's also given me a good view of what the world is like outside of the US.
Davidson Academy is a God-focused school.  How does that impact life at DA and what does it mean to you?
DA school life is centered around Christ in every aspect. Although we learn standard subjects, we also learn how to grow in Christ and listen to the teachings of the Bible. Any teacher here is knowledgeable and willing to talk about Christianity and capable of giving advice at any time. This means so much to me.
What would you tell someone who was interested in attending Davidson Academy?
Try it out, shadow here for a day. The atmosphere and classes will  impress you, so then do it.
What has DA taught you about being a leader?
DA has taught me how to show a Christian attitude. Although there are some things you must learn in school, those things are shown through a Christian light. This leaves us prepared to face leadership challenges we will have throughout our life.
What activities do you participate in outside of school?
Scouting
