Meet Ethan Sons

Grade:  12th
How long have you been a student at DA?
I have been at Davidson since my freshman year.
What is your favorite thing about DA?
My favorite things is the religious foundation it sets for us as students, and the community that is provided from having a smaller class size.
Which class has been your favorite and why?
My favorite thus far has been Mrs. Higgins' English II class.  She makes the class fun and I have a lot of friends in that class..
How would you describe the classroom environment at DA?
The classroom environment is very engaging, encouraging, and it really allows for a good place for a student to learn.
What is your favorite DA tradition?*
Coming Home week which takes place during basketball season. (I'm biased because I am a basketball player.)
What activities are you involved in at DA?
I play varsity basketball, play piano for the HS Praise Band, and am a member of the FCA club.
Choose a DA activity or team that you listed above and describe your experience and how it has impacted you.
Praise Band is an amazing way to start my day. 1st period every day, I am offered great encouragement by my peers, and Mr. Campbell. Praise Band has taught me both how to play music with a group of people, as well as simply creating solutions with people in a group setting.
Davidson Academy is a God-focused school.  How does that impact life at DA and what does it mean to you?
It means everything to me. Going to Davidson Academy for high school was one of the best decisions I could've made... putting Christ at the forefront of it all just makes it worth it.
What would you tell someone who was interested in attending Davidson Academy?
I would first tell them the impact it has made on my life. Then I would ask what their interest are and explain that there is a place for them here at DA..
What has DA taught you about being a leader?
DA has taught me that standing out for what you believe or how you act is a good thing, regardless of age.
What activities do you participate in outside of school?
AAU (Travel) Basketball/ basketball lessons.
