Dear DA Family,
In the wake of the tragic death of George Floyd, we are continually reminded of the injustice faced by so many in our community and across the country. My heart aches for the families of the victims from these senseless acts. I may not get it exactly right, but silence is not an option. Genesis 1:26 says, “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.” We (all of us) are created in His image.
Now more than ever, we need to stand in solidarity with one another to amplify Christ’s message of peace, love, and acceptance for all, no matter the color of your skin. There is no place for racism in this world.
I can tell you that I don’t have the words to express my heart, and don’t pretend to understand how and what those who have been affected feel. Regardless the color of your skin, or your socio-economic status, I love you. I’m grateful for each and every student and family here. Every year, I (we) pray that God would providentially place each student here – handpicked by Him. I see God’s answer to that prayer in each of you.
I urge our DA families to continually pray for God’s grace on all during these difficult times. Please pray hard for meaningful change to bring a halt to the preventable acts of hate and violence all around our nation, as we attempt to move forward peacefully with compassion for justice and equality for all.
As 1 John 2:11 proclaims, “But anyone who hates a brother or sister is in the darkness and walks around in the darkness. They do not know where they are going, because the darkness has blinded them.”
Let’s all dedicate ourselves to be the light through this storm, bringing us together, as we glorify our Lord and Savior. “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16)
Peace be with you all – in and through Him.
God is Sovereign, and always Good!
Together We (every single one of us) are DA!
