We offer students a variety of opportunities to create works of art using a variety of mediums, techniques, and technology. Students learn about art from various time periods and develop an appreciation for the presence of art.
The Graphic Design course uses many real-world applications such as Adobe Photoshop and Google Sketchup. Students create model homes and advertisements like professionals.
Theater
Performing arts starts as early as Pre-K3 as all Lower School students participate in music class once a week and put on a two big shows a year.
The Upper School produces three shows a year under Mr. Bakari King, the theater director and teacher. Recent shows include Inside Out Atlas, The Addams Family, The Wizard of Oz, and The Diary of Anne Frank. Plus, our Middle School students recently performed in a Murder Mystery production. Students also have the option to take theater class as part of their fine arts requirement.
Band
At Davidson Academy, we have a 5th & 6th grade band and a 7th-12th grade concert band. The 5th & 6th grade band acts a beginner course and enables students to become familiar with their instruments, learn to read sheet music, and develop their musical skills.
Concert band is a class that students can take for their fine arts credit and performs two concerts a year.
Schola Cantorum
Schola Cantorum is open to all students in grades 7-12. The chorus performs at their winter and spring concerts, chapel, and various school events. High school students receive one fine arts credit for participation. This is a unique opportunity for students to develop their styles of tone, articulation, and phrasing.
Upper School Chapel Praise Band
Auditions are open to students in grades 7-12. The Praise Band leads worship in chapel each week under the direction of Mr. Bob Campbell. The Praise Band consists of, but not limited to guitarists, pianist, singers, and percussionists. This is a unique opportunity for students to use their talents to glorify God.
Lower School Praise Team

Private Piano
Private piano lessons are available on campus through Mrs. Laura Stewart.
Dance
Glorifying God through Dance
DA Dance strives to technically train dancers in a Christian environment. Classes are offered in ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, and clogging. Our goal is to help each student achieve their best potential with the gifts and talents God has given them. Students have the opportunity to perform in chapel as well as a spring production in April.
