  • MAY 30-JUNE 2 Boys Football Camp

    • Time: (Tues - Fri), 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
    • Grades: Rising 3rd - 8th
    • Instructor: Jonathan Quinn, HS Football Coach
    • Cost: $150 
    Head Coach: Johnathan Quinn
    Coach Quinn has served as Davidson Academy’s Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator for the past 9 seasons. During his tenure, DA has compiled a record of 75-23; winning state championships in 2018, 2019, and 2020. Coach Quinn played quarterback at MTSU from 1995-1997 and was drafted in 1998 by the Jacksonville Jaguars. He went on to play 8 seasons in the NFL as a member of the Jaguars, Chiefs, and Bears. He was also named the MVP of NFL Europe’s World Bowl in 2001. Coach Quinn began his coaching career at Mid-America Nazarene University as the offensive coordinator from 2007-2008 and as the head coach from 2009-2014.

    Defensive Coordinator: Thomas Porter
    Coach Porter has served as Davidson Academy's Defensive Coordinator for one season. Before arriving at DA Coach Porter was the Head Football Coach at Stratford STEM High School in Nashville TN for 6 Seasons. During his tenure at Stratford Coach Porter led the Spartans to the playoffs each of the 6 years and made it to the TSSAA Semi-Finals in 2018. Coach Porter helped coach Stratford High Schools 1st and only TSSAA Mr. Football Winner (James Moore) in 2019. Porter has also Coached at Ezell-Harding Christian School as Defensive Coordinator between2013-2016 and at Tennessee State University as a Graduate Assistant between 2011-2013. Coach Porter played Running Back at Ferrum College in Ferrum VA, 2006-2011, earning all-conference honors and earning the honor as Team Captain his senior year.

    In this Non-Contact camp, each camper will work with the Varsity football coaches on fundamentals of the game. There will be many stations set up that focus on running, catching, throwing and agility work. They will learn many aspects of the game and be able to set their foundation as well as sharpen what they already know. We ultimately have two goals for our football camp: learn how to play safely and have fun.

    Soccer Shots Classic utilizes creative and imaginative games to focus on basic soccer skills like dribbling, passing and shooting. We also highlight a positive character trait each session such as respect, teamwork and appreciation.

  • JUNE 12-15 Co-ed All Soccer Camp

    LS/MS Soccer Camp Description: Our soccer camp will feature various skill development and a magnificent camp experience. We are not just an ordinary camp.  We believe children should have the best fun filled week.  Our activities will include and not limited to; foot skills, passing, receiving, shooting, dribbling, and various small games throughout the week in order to reinforce various skills taught. Campers should wear, if possible, their soccer cleats, shin-guards, high knee length socks, and bring with them a sports drink and their water bottles. Any allergies or medications that we need to be aware of, please let us know. On our final day of camp, we will have a parent vs. camper game! Come on out for our BEAR Camp soccer experience.
  • JUNE 12-15 Cheer Camp

    Coach Brandy Horton has coached youth cheerleading for the last 5 years.  The last two of those years, here at DA, serving as the middle school assistant coach last year and moving to head coach, this year.  She led the team to the 2023 UCA Nationals this year.  

    Camp Description: At our DA Summer Cheer Camp, the campers will learn the basics of cheerleading, such as dance, cheers, jumps, and basic stunt skills.  Our campers will work with some of our DA cheerleaders to improve their skills and learn from a very talented group of cheerleaders.  We will conclude our camp with a special performance for parents.  
  • JUNE 19-22 Elem Baseball Camp

    • Cost: $150
    Head Coach: Cody Church: Coach Church is in his first season as the Head Baseball Coach at Davidson Academy. Coach Church began his coaching career as an assistant at NCAA Division I Presbyterian College. Following Presbyterian, he went on to spend two years in the same capacity at Tennessee Tech University - where their teams led the country in runs, homeruns, and hits. After winning an OVC Title, he went on to become the Head Coach at Maryville College, where their teams had a 122-79 record and were ranked top-25 nationally in multiple seasons.
     
    Campers will learn basic fundamentals and techniques of hitting, fielding, base running, and throwing. In addition, there will be competitive games to promote team building, communication skills, and most importantly keep each child engaged and having fun playing the sport. The final day will conclude with “sliding practice” using a slip and slide.

    Elem Volleyball Camp is designed to introduce the extreme basic skills of the sport while having fun! This is a high energy, well planned and coordinated camp that encourages each child to try their hardest and be their best! 
    Connie Caldwell-Rogan can be called the first great Austin Peay volleyball player, a two-time first-team All-OVC honoree who earned league Player of the Year honors in 1987.     The MS Volleyball Camp is designed to build the athlete's skills and knowledge of the game. The camp focus is on fundamental drills of setting, passing, attacking, serving, blocking, base and transitioning. It will also include themes on team defense and offense, conditioning, positions accountability, out of system play, serve receive patterns and competition.

    In this more advanced camp, campers will continue to build on basic fundamentals depending on their existing skill level. Our staff will teach each aspect of hitting, fielding, pitching, base running and more. We will also have a competition day and promote game-like activities throughout the week. Regardless of skill level and experience in the sport, this camp will be a great week of learning the sport with the DA Staff.

    Singing, Dancing & Acting, also known as Musical Theater! In this high energy class, your student will learn to be a triple threat as they call it in the theater world! Your child will learn the proper techniques of singing on Broadway, learning the proper use of the microphone, basic dance steps and routines, and learn how to cold read a script and much more! High energy fun! 
     
    Campers will perform 101 Dalmatians. Scripts will be emailed to campers the week before camp begins. On Friday, the children will perform for the parents. After the performance campers will enjoy the water slide on Friday!

    Have you ever wanted to write a song, but don't know where to start? Or, if you've written some songs before, do you want to learn how to get better? If you've answered "yes" to either one of these questions, then this is the class for you! In the 'real world', most of the top songs are collaborative efforts. Together, we will take a look at what makes up a great song...then create one ourselves! This is a great opportunity for students to develop teamwork skills with others while building their own sense of creative self-confidence. This is a class for beginner/intermediate songwriters. Prior experience is not necessary to enroll.
     
    Morgann David is a musician/songwriter from Nashville, TN with over 15 years of professional experience. She has nearly 10 years of experience working as a teacher / youth creative mentor and loves helping children to become enriched through music and the arts.     Come one, Come all! This is a chance for your child to build and show off his or her talents! If they have a budding creative interest, this is the class to celebrate it! During this semester, each child will have an opportunity to ‘take the stage’ and express their creativity in a positive, supportive environment. In the process they will build self-confidence, learn presentation skills and practice empathy and encouragement by cheering on their peers.
     
    Students are encouraged to present piece(s) to the class for constructive feedback and group educational purposes. We will learn and hone performing basics such as eye contact, proper microphone technique, the technical skills of movement, how to be a confident, compelling performer, and more. We will also have the opportunity to collaborate together in a collective environment.

    Get ready to explore the exciting world of robotics. During this camp your child will be introduced to programming and building simple models with LEGO® bricks in the WeDo Family and LEGO BOOST programs that move and make sound. This class combines education with fun and excitement. Basic knowledge of gears, motors, and pulleys will be introduced.

    Adventures in Art Camp will explore a variety of art mediums and techniques. Campers will make their very own impressionist painting inspired by the prayer garden landscape. They will make creations from recycled materials. Little hands will be busy at the maker station where creative juices can flow during free-to-create time. Crafts, games, and water slide on Friday!

  • JUNE 12-16 RC Car Race Camp

    Beginner and intermediate RC car enthusiasts will enjoy circuit and drag racing the Traxxas 1/16th Slash radio controlled car. Campers will learn the fundamentals of racing and speed secrets, tips and tricks to increase your race time.  Campers will participate in track design collaboration, racing challenges, and racing prep. New track designs each day and winners take home a trophy. Campers will play on the water slide after the final race on Friday!
    Please note our cars are not for bashing, running into walls or other cars and remain the property of the camp. 
  • JUNE 12-16 Camp Brick - LEGO: Little Explorers Mad Science

    Explode, Explore, and discover “FIZZ”-ical and chemical reactions. Little learners will love this hands-on week of scientific discovery. Get messy and make whacky discoveries as we explore what it takes to make scientific discoveries. Campers will each receive their own Personalized Explorers Science Kit to keep at the end of the week. (Max 20 campers)
  • JUNE 12-16 Crafty Critters

    Campers will love making animal themed crafts and snacks, frame-worthy art, and more! A variety of materials will be made available at the free build table for student directed creations.   • JUNE 12-16 Food Science Camp

    Campers will enjoy creating edible science experiments such as rock candy, sourdough bread and butter, mini pizzas and more! Campers will love to mix, roll, bake. They will enjoy wholesome summer games and recess time while their baked goods are in the oven!  Campers will have the option to enjoy the water slide on Friday!

    **Campers will visit a different theme park each day and take a virtual field trip which includes the history of the park, virtual rides, snacks, and firework shows. Each student will create their own Magic Band for park entry. Campers will have the option to enjoy the water slide on Friday! The daily park themes are:

    Students will enjoy learning while exploring the theme of camping. Students will design and construct boats, tents, flashlights, and solar ovens. These challenges will engage students as they design, engineer, and test their creations. Students will go through the Engineering Process as they build and test their creations using various materials to construct it. Students will also get to sing songs and tell stories by a campfire, read in tents/ hammocks, and a variety of other camping related games, crafts, and activities. Campers will have the option to enjoy the water slide on Friday!
  • JUNE 19-23 Elementary Scrapbooking Camp

    Scrapbooking is an innovative and creative way to preserve cherished memories.  In this week-long camp, students can look forward to:
    • Learning to use various crafting tools.
    • Creating layouts that will highlight their pictures and tell a story. 
    • Training in the art of cropping photos, designing page layouts, using the Cricut machine...
    • Understanding how to pique interest and stir creativity by using embellishments, stickers, washi tape and more.  
    • Discovering the art of digital scrapbooking.
    • Scrapbooking Camp Projects include making: a mini photo album, 2 page layouts, a shadow box and a digital scrapbook slideshow.

    Children will enjoy this creative maker space by utilizing a variety of cardboard materials, colorful tape, and embellishments such as glitter, googly eyes and paint. We will connect the cardboard pieces with low-temp hot glue guns, tape and hinge techniques. Engineering challenges will be introduced each day such as bridges, towers, and tunnels.  Crafts, games, and a water slide on Friday!

    We are proud to offer our amazing kid’s junior veterinary camp, designed for students who love their pet, or love animals, or may even want to consider a veterinary career someday. In this veterinary school camp, students will learn what it is like to be a veterinarian and all the many job options there are as a vet. The will role play being a doctor in a real veterinary clinic, and perform a nose to tail exam, learning what tools to use. They will learn the importance of X-rays, and play “Guess the x-ray.” Through hands on opportunities, they’ll learn basic skills in working with animals like animal husbandry, handline, and basic medical care. They’ll learn about dog and cat body language and how to safely approach them, with live animal experience. They will create a cat toy, and graduate camp with a t-shirt and a Junior Veterinary School diploma. Campers will have the option to enjoy the water slide on Friday!
    Note: If your child is allergic to cats and dogs then this camp is unfortunately not "fur" them.
