    Basketball Camp creates a positive experience for kids in learning the fundamentals of the game.     LS/MS Soccer Camp Description: Our soccer camp will feature various skill development and a magnificent camp experience. We are not just an ordinary camp, we believe children should have the best fun filled week. Our activities will include and not limited to; foot skills, passing and receiving,  shooting, dribbling, and various small sided games throughout the week in order to reinforce various skills taught. Campers should wear, if possible, their soccer cleats, shin-guards, high knee length socks, and bring with them a sports drink and their water bottles. Any allergies or medications that we need to be aware of, please let us know. On our final day of camp, we will have a parent vs. campers game! Come on out for our BEAR Camp soccer experience.
  • JUNE 13-16 Baseball Camp

    Campers will learn proper baseball techniques, perform drills practicing newly acquired skills and participate in fun team building games that strengthen their skills.

    MSFB Head Coach: Mac Swann
    Coach Swann is a graduate of Davidson Academy (2008). He has been the middle school football coach for the past 8 seasons. He has also been a member of the varsity football staff for the past ten years as a defensive backs coach in 2013, wide receivers coach/offensive coordinator in 2014 and has spent the last 8 seasons as the Director of Football ops/offensive analyst for the varsity football team. 

    Head Coach: Johnathan Quinn
    Coach Quinn has served as Davidson Academy’s Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator for the past 8 seasons. During his tenure, DA has compiled a record of 75-23; winning state championships in 2018, 2019, and 2020. Coach Quinn played quarterback at MTSU from 1995-1997 and was drafted in 1998 by the Jacksonville Jaguars. He went on to play 8 seasons in the NFL as a member of the Jaguars, Chiefs, and Bears. He was also named the MVP of NFL Europe’s World Bowl in 2001. Coach Quinn began his coaching career at Mid-America Nazarene University as the offensive coordinator from 2007-2008 and as the head coach from 2009-2014.

    Ron Lambert: Defensive Coordinator/Special Teams Coordinator
    Coach Lambert has served as Davidson Academy’s Defensive Coordinator and Special Teams Coordinator for the past 3 seasons. Coach Lambert played college football at Wake Forrest from 1990-1992 where he was a defensive back and punt returner. Prior to coming to DA, Coach Lambert was the defensive coordinator at Illinois State University and Tennessee State University. He also served as the head coach at Rossview High School from 2010-2017, Whites Creek High School from 2017-2018, and Republic High School from 2018-2019. 


    Camp Description:
    Non-Contact (3rd-8th): Each camper will work with the Varsity football coaches on fundamentals of the game. There will be many stations set up that focus on running, catching, throwing and agility work. They will learn many aspects of the game and be able to set their foundation as well as sharpen what they already know. We ultimately have two goals for our football camp: learn how to play safely and have fun.

    Elem Volleyball Camp is designed to introduce the extreme basic skills of the sport while having fun!

    Connie Caldwell-Rogan can be called the first great Austin Peay volleyball player, a two-time first-team All-OVC honoree who earned league Player of the Year honors in 1987.     The MS Volleyball Camp is designed to build the athlete's skills and knowledge of the game. The camp focus is on fundamental drills of setting, passing, attacking, serving, blocking, base and transitioning. It will also include themes on team defense and offense, conditioning, positions accountability, out of system play, serve receive patterns and competition.

  • JULY 11-14 Softball Camp

    Head Coach, Stacy Swinea has been at Davidson Academy for 30 years and has been the head softball coach for 29 of those years. She has taken 19 teams to the State Tournament with 3 State Championships and 5 State Runner-ups and has compiled over 700 wins. 
     
    Camp Description: DA Softball Camp will introduce fundamentals to younger athletes as well as strengthen softball skills for more advanced athletes. We encourage anyone who would like to learn the proper fundamental skills to attend. Your student athlete will walk away from camp knowing key skills that will form a basis for future improvement. We will spend time focusing on throwing, fielding, hitting, sliding and catching! We will emphasize repetition and confidence in each athlete’s skills as well as enjoyment of the sport!
  • JULY 11-14 Cheer Camp

    Coach Brandy Horton I have coached cheerleading for 3 years and coached a Kindergarten - 5th grade team for 2 years.  I served as the assistant MS basketball cheer coach here at DA this year and science lab teacher.
     
    Camp Description: At our DA Summer Cheer Camp, the campers will learn the basics of cheerleading, such as dance, cheers, jumps, and basic stunt skills.  Our campers will work with some of our DA cheerleaders to improve their skills and learn from a very talented group of cheerleaders.  We will conclude our camp with a special performance for parents.

    Under the Sea Camp will follow a fun curriculum that focuses on coral reefs, sea animals, beaches, and the deepest parts of the ocean. Campers will create an ocean zone bottle experiment and enjoy a Dance Under the Sea party. Enjoy creative sea creature snacks and just keep swimming popcorn! End the week with an Under the Sea Explorer Certificate!

    Aloha Hawaiian Camp follows a fun curriculum that explores the science and culture of Hawaii. Campers will learn about volcanoes, animals, and coconut trees. They will try their hand at creating a Hawaiian flower lei and grass skirt to dress up for the Moana workout and Hawaiian dance party!

    Middle School Clay Camp will focus on the hand building process, giving students the opportunity to use clay techniques to build a variety of pieces. Campers will explore pinch pot, coil, slab building and create a collective clay installation project to place in the prayer garden. Clay items created at camp will be available two weeks later due to the drying and firing processes.

    Adventures in Art Camp will explore a variety of abstract art mediums and techniques.     Adventures in Art Camp will explore a variety of abstract art mediums and techniques. Campers will make a glue batik t-shirt and their very own impressionist painting inspired by the prayer garden landscape. They will make creations from recycled materials. Clay items created at camp will be available two weeks later due to the drying and firing processes.

    • Instructor: Dr. Alice Emberton: Veterinarian and owner of Emberton House Call Veterinary Clinic has been serving the greater Nashville area with her mobile vet clinic for almost thirty years.

    We are proud to offer our amazing kid’s junior veterinary camp, designed for students who love their pet, or love animals, or may even want to consider a veterinary career someday. In this veterinary school camp, students will learn what it is like to be a veterinarian and all the many job options there are as a vet. The will role play being a doctor in a real veterinary clinic, and perform a nose to tail exam, learning what tools to use. They will learn the importance of X-rays, and play “Guess the x-ray.” Through hands on opportunities, they’ll learn basic skills in working with animals like animal husbandry, handline, and basic medical care. They’ll learn about dog and cat body language and how to safely approach them, with live animal experience. They will create a cat toy, and graduate camp with a t-shirt and a Junior Veterinary School diploma.  
    Note: If your child is allergic to cats and dogs then this camp is unfortunately not "fur" them.

    Elementary Clay Camp will focus on the hand building process, giving students the opportunity to use clay techniques to build a variety of pieces. Campers will explore pinch pot, coil, slab building and create a collective clay installation project to place in the prayer garden.     Your little astronaut will have a galactic sized adventure participating with their mission control team to create and launch an Alka-Seltzer rocket, homemade galaxy slime, and moon sand. Enjoy planetary style arts & crafts, participate in out of this world activities, and enjoy star gazing snacks and treats. Learn about Neill Armstrong and Sally Ride and what astronauts and astronomers do. Educational videos explore topics of stars, moon phases, and the solar system.

    Welcome to the Remote Control Car Kit Build Camp at DA! In this camp you will receive everything you need to build your own RC car. You will receive a Traxxas Stampede 4X4 unassembled kit, Traxxas charger and NIMH battery, remote receiver, tool set with zip pouch, plus 4 AA batteries. We will supply different color paints to personalize your RC car body and Traxxas masking. (stencil tape)  Our camp staff are experienced in this hobby, from building kits, bashing and repairing, safety measures, ramps, and running. This is an intermediate level camp.
