Davidson Academy strives to offer a strong Christian foundation for college preparation by nurturing spiritual, intellectual, physical, and social growth.
Morning Time
Each day school begins with a student led prayer, devotion, and the Pledge of Allegiance.
Classroom Instruction
Students in grades K3-6th grade have Bible class everyday which includes scripture memorization and Bible stories.
Lower School students participate in weekly chapels. Each chapel features student/teacher led worship and a Bible-based message from a teacher, student, or guest speaker. Upper School students also participate in weekly chapels. The Dean of Spiritual Life shares a message and the student led praise band leads worship.
Community Groups
Upper School Students are divided up into groups of 10-12 students based on age and gender and are paired with a faculty member.
There are numerous opportunities for students to give back at DA. Our school partners with various ministries and organizations throughout the year such as Merizdo Ministries, Shwab Elementary, Atanie’s Hope Project, Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital, and Room at the Inn. High school students have opportunity to travel to Haiti in the winter and to South Korea with our international student sponsors in the summer.
Bible Studies
Each Thursday morning, upper school students have the opportunity to learn from their peers through student led Bible studies. This is a great opportunity for students to become spiritual leaders within the community.
Retreats
At the beginning of each school year, high school students go on a spiritual retreat at Camp Widjiwagan in Murfreesboro, TN. At the retreat, students relax, make new friends, and grow in their faith.
