Meet Emsley Allen

Name: Emsley Allen

Grade: 10th

How long have you been a student at DA?

Since kindergarten, this is my 11th year here.

What is your favorite thing about DA?

DA's community and the fun class trips we have.

Which class has been your favorite and why?

My favorite class this year is pottery since I love taking home everything I make. Overall, it's probably Coach Clayton's science class in 8th grade. The first day of school he jumped on the table to hype us up, then he held an ice cream party for us on the last day.

How would you describe the classroom environment at DA?

It's very safe and welcoming

What is your favorite DA tradition?

Decorating the hallways at Homecoming! I used to love walking through them as a kid and now I love putting them together.

What activities are you involved in at DA?

Volleyball, Tennis, Beta Club, Passion for the Paws, FCA, Book Club, and Vice President of the Student Body.

Choose a DA activity or team that you listed above and describe your experience and how it has impacted you.

Volleyball; it's taught me to work together with a team and help others.

Davidson Academy is a God-focused school. How does that impact life at DA and what does it mean to you?

It makes it easy to talk about my faith and stay in relationship with God.

What would you tell someone who was interested in attending Davidson Academy?

It's a great school with a welcoming community.

What has DA taught you about being a leader?

DA has taught me that being a leader means being kind, following Christ, and setting a good example for others.
