Name: Audrey Hand
Grade: 9th
How long have you been a student at DA?
I started this August at the beginning of freshman year.
What is your favorite thing about DA?
The staff. They are so caring.
Which class has been your favorite and why?
Geometry or Biology because my friends and I have fun laughing while still being able to learn.
How would you describe the classroom environment at DA?
Like a classroom filled with your closest friends and family.
What is your favorite DA tradition?
I haven't been here for long but so far, I think the homecoming game was very fun and I love the tailgates before games.
What activities are you involved in at DA?
D&D, Culinary club, Thespian Society, and Passion For The Paws.
Choose a DA activity or team that you listed above and describe your experience and how it has impacted you.
Culinary Club, because everyone is so sweet and they always have the best food.
Davidson Academy is a God-focused school. How does that impact life at DA and what does it mean to you?
DA has taught me more about God than I ever knew before. Even though I’ve been going to church since I was one and a half, I’ve learned so much more through DA. I don’t think I would know as much about God without chapel and my Old Testament class.
If you are a senior, what are your plans for college and do you know what you want to study?
I'm not a senior but I do know what my plan would be. I want to be a Master builder which means I would be an architect who also runs the contracting and construction process.
What would you tell someone who was interested in attending Davidson Academy?
It’s great! Everything from the people and the classes to the food! All good!
What has DA taught you about being a leader?
DA has taught me that being a leader means being willing to compromise and get along with people you might not normally get along with outside of school.
