Davidson Academy is excited to welcome Bart Rader as our new Head Softball Coach.
Coach Rader is a proud Davidson Academy alumnus, graduating in 1994 alongside his wife, Tara. The Rader family's deep connection to Davidson Academy spans generations, with daughters Presley and Brooklyn graduating as DA legacy alumni in 2022 and 2025, while their youngest daughter, Jaleijza, is currently a freshman at DA.
Beyond his commitment to education and family, Coach Rader has dedicated his professional career to serving the Nashville community. He has served for 28 years with the Metro Nashville Police Department and has spent more than 24 years as a Team Leader with the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Unit in the Special Operations Division.
On the softball field, Coach Rader brings 16 years of coaching experience and a proven ability to develop positive training environments that enhance player performance while building a strong team culture. His passion for the game is matched by his commitment to investing in every athlete, helping players pursue their personal and athletic goals while fostering a lifelong love for softball.
Most importantly, Coach Rader is dedicated to leading with faith, character, and purpose, keeping the focus on our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, while developing young women both on and off the field.
