Davidson Academy Acquires Adjacent Property to Expand Preschool Offerings
NASHVILLE – Davidson Academy (DA) is excited to announce the property formerly known as the Grace Manor Assisted Living Community (1420 Old Hickory Blvd., Nashville, TN 37207) has been purchased this summer. The nearly 36,000-square-foot former assisted living facility will be remodeled for DA’s new preschool program serving children from six weeks to Pre K-4.
This recent acquisition will provide Davidson Academy with the flexibility to expand the preschool offerings for prospective families in search of a Christ-based education for their children.
The newly acquired facility location is essentially right next door to the 65-acre campus on Old Hickory Blvd. just north of downtown Nashville, conveniently situated between Interstate 65 and Interstate 24. These two highways are the major inbound arteries connecting the communities of Gallatin, Hendersonville, Goodlettsville, Greenbrier, White House, Springfield, Joelton, Pleasant View, Clarksville, and others to the metropolitan Nashville area.
“I’m excited for our school community to witness growth that will now provide families with the unique opportunity to bring their children to DA during their early day care years,” said Headmaster Terri Simmons. “We are extremely fortunate to add this service to parents in a building that is literally right next door to our campus, as we continue to prepare our students for college, life, and eternity.”
Davidson Academy is currently going through the rezoning process with the guidance and support of Metro Councilwoman Jennifer Gamble (District 3). There will be a District 3 meeting tonight (July 25) at DA with the rezoning initiative on the agenda. The newly upgraded preschool program is projected to open during the spring of 2024, as the school is currently in search of an Executive Director to oversee the program.
“We are blessed beyond measure with the opportunity this will now provide families looking for a convenient day care and preschool option close to downtown Nashville,” said Board of Trustees Chairman Jason Wilkerson. “With so many new people moving to our area, the numbers show a high demand for this much-needed service DA will now be able to accommodate.”
