Bryan Ayer Named Davidson Academy Boys Soccer Head Coach and Dean of Students
NASHVILLE – Davidson Academy is excited to announce that Bryan Ayer will join the DA family as the new head coach for the Davidson Academy high school boys soccer program and the new Dean of Students.
Ayer has spent his last 20 years at Goodpasture Christian School as a history teacher, specializing in dual enrollment and AP courses. He was also the high school boys soccer head coach at Goodpasture for 16 years (2006-2022), leading teams to the state tournament three times (2008, 2021, and 2022).
“We are excited to have Bryan join the DA family to lead our boys soccer program for years to come, as we continue to prepare our students for college, life, and eternity,” said Athletic Director Kevin Harper. “I’m looking forward to watching him share his extensive knowledge of the game with our student athletes, leading with an emphasis on our Christian principles at DA, while focusing on player development on and off the field.”
Ayer earned his Master’s degree in Education and Administration from Lipscomb University, along with a Master’s degree in History from Arizona State University. While attending Lipscomb, he was Captain of the men’s soccer team and a three-year starting goalkeeper.
“I’m excited to join the Davidson Academy community as the new Dean of Students and boys soccer head coach,” said Ayer. “I’m eager to bring my experience and passion for student development and school culture to this new role. In addition to my experience in the classroom, I’ve worked closely with students, faculty, and families to foster academic success and emotional well-being. I’m committed to creating an environment where every student can thrive, both inside and outside the classroom.”
“Mr. Ayer is going to be a wonderful addition to the DA family as the Dean of Students,” said High School Principal Sarah Jane Moore. “He has a heart for kids and truly wants to see them succeed in all aspects of their life. He is professional, hardworking, and willing to go the extra mile to support students, families, and teachers. I look forward to working alongside him.”
Bryan has been happily married to his wife, Jessica, for 17 years. They love spending their time traveling the world and exploring new cultures.
