Meet Brooke Castle

Grade: 12th
How long have you been a student at DA?
14 years
What is your favorite thing about DA?
My favorite thing about DA is the community.
Which class has been your favorite and why?
Anatomy with Mrs. Breece because she really knows how to get you to love the subject as much as she does.
How would you describe the classroom environment at DA?
I would describe the classroom environment as welcoming!
What is your favorite DA tradition?
I have two favorites: Bear Blessing, when the graduating seniors partner with the graduating kindergartners and walk through the halls to gather for a blessing, as well as Homecoming and all of the fun events that go along with it.
What activities are you involved in at DA?
I play basketball and soccer. I am the captain of the soccer team and I am also involved in school clubs.
Choose a DA activity or team that you listed above and describe your experience and how it has impacted you.
Being a part of the basketball and soccer teams has shown me so much. Mostly, how to be a good teammate and how to work together to accomplish things. The opportunity to be a soccer captain this year has taught me more about leadership and ways that I can show it on and off the field.
Davidson Academy is a God-focused school.  How does that impact life at DA and what does it mean to you?
Being at a God-focused school has helped strengthen my walk with Christ. It has also become a place I can go when I need prayers or guidance.
What would you tell someone who was interested in attending Davidson Academy?
I would tell them Davidson is a great school with many academic and social opportunities.
What has DA taught you about being a leader?
I’ve learned responsibility, respect, and how to lead with a Christ-like attitude.

What activities do you participate in outside of school?
I am involved in my church’s youth group.
